Put Down the War

Put down the war,

It’s a bore

To friends.

Sends the wrong

Messages,

But presages

Disaster.

The horse steps back,

Dressage style,

And all the while

Empty handed

Gestures

Without a smile

Cast an image

Of a little child

Who had no song.

That’s at his core

So now he fights

His war

And all the measures taken,

Promises

Forsaken

Mean nothing

Anymore.
